The project
Castello Errante is the first International Cinema Residence involving Italy and Latin America.
The initiative was conceived by Adele Dell’Erario and organised by Occhi di Giove srl, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Ibermedia Program and the Lazio Region, in collaboration with IILA – Italian-Latin American International Organisation, Roma Lazio Film Commission , Doc/it – Associazione Documentaristi Italiani and the Embassies of Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Haiti, Honduras, Venezuela, Guatemala, México, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela.
Castello Errante takes place every year in a different village in Italy and represents an innovative training, production and promotion model for film-making and audiovisuals.
The project – through a public call addressed to young Italian and Latin American students and professionals in the audiovisual sector – selects an international troupe that produces various audiovisual products and participates in many cultural and educational activities.
Castello Errante is deeply rooted in the discovery and interaction between cultural diversities and the new expressive languages of film-making and audiovisuals; it brings to life a new type of educational experience, unexpected contents in the youth cinema scene, an interesting cultural and economic impact in decentralised urban territories compared to large cities and implements new training and research methods around new technologies and the sector’s latest trends.
