CALLS FOR THE VI EDITION ARE NOW OPEN

A few months after the start of the VI edition of Castello Errante, the news has come in that this year too the Residency has won the Lazio Region tender for the award of grants for initiatives intended for the promotion of cinematographic and audiovisual culture: out of over one hundred projects submitted, the initiative was in first place for the third time. An important result and an acknowledgement that bears witness to the great work carried out in recent years, now also backed by the confidence of the Ministry of Culture, through the fund allocated to CINEMATOGRAPHIC AND AUDIOVISUAL CULTURE DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS which was awarded to Castello Errante this year as well.

Castello Errante is a hub dedicated to innovation in the audiovisual sector: a project based on international production experience and, at the same time, a tourist promotional platform for Italian villages and hamlets, with an interesting cultural and economic impact in suburban areas. Castello Errante promotes international exchange, cultural diversity and new expressive languages in the cinema and audiovisual sectors. The project involves Italy and Latin America through an international cinema Residency that takes place every year in a village in the Lazio region, which stands out for its artistic and landscape beauty.

CALLS FOR THE VI EDITION ARE NOW OPEN

Calls for the VI edition of Castello Errante are still open, and the deadline is 10 August: the Residency will take place in autumn 2022, both online and face-to-face in the village of Santa Severa, located in the municipality of Santa Marinella, in the province of Rome (Italy).

There are two open calls and both are aimed at students and young professionals aged between 21 and 35, from either Italy or Latin America.

The first call is for the selection of a short film script that will be produced during the Residency; it has a free theme and is aimed at authors not only from Italy but also from Central and South America.

The second call is for the search of the troupe members who will be producing the fictional short and the other audiovisual products included in the programme and includes applications for one of the following roles: director of the fictional short, director of the short documentary (only students and professionals of Italian nationality); assistant director; director of photography; 1st camera assistant; sound director; set disegner; costume designer; editor; post-production expert.

The selected students will participate in all Residency activities, whether they be training, production or promotion. The project entails an intensive theoretical, practical and experiential learning in a diversified context, far from the big cities: a new model of audiovisual, collaborative and international production, based on the potential and knowledge of its participants.

In order to participate, log into the dedicated page of the website www.castelloerranteresidenza.it and follow the instructions for applying.
