CALLS OPEN FOR THE VIII EDITION OF CASTELLO ERRANTE!

The calls for the much-anticipated
eighth edition of Castello Errante are now open!

Castello Errante is the groundbreaking format for promoting cinema and audiovisuals, which focuses on a village characterized by a rich cultural and scenic heritage. The project collaborates with prestigious institutions and organizations active in education, production, and promotion in the audiovisual field. Every year, the project sees the participation of young people from Italy and Latin America, aiming to celebrate cinema through the expression of their creativity. For this reason, Castello Errante will select a screenplay for a fictional short film and an international crew responsible for its realization during the residency, along with other artistic projects.

In search of a new location for the 2024 edition, this project aims to involve and enhance the vibrant fabric of the Italian province, promoting interactions on various levels through international and cultural exchanges, technological innovation, eco-sustainability of production processes, and generating significant economic benefits in the involved urban areas that are decentralized from major cities.

From the dedicated page, you can access the calls and submit applications from April 1st to July 1st, 2024.

The open roles for application in the crew include: Director, Assistant Director, Director of Photography, Camera Operator, Sound Technician, Set Designer, Assistant Set Designer, Costume Designer, Editor, and Filmmaker.

The Organization reserves the right to select a Boom Operator from the Sound Technician candidates and an Assistant Camera Operator from the candidates for the roles of Director of Photography and Camera Operator. The role of the Filmmaker involves conceptualizing, producing, and finalizing video and photographic material documenting and narrating the current edition of the project, its locations, protagonists, and activities, destined for the promotion and communication of the initiative.

NEWS OF FEBRUARY 2024

CASTELLO ERRANTE – SHOWCASE

This year sees the birth of a new format within the project to facilitate meetings for production and co-production between young Italian and Latin American talents and Italian audiovisual production companies.

Castello Errante has established a virtual space dedicated to projects in development involving Italy and countries in Central and South America. The event will offer the opportunity to connect with young Italian and Latin American talents, annually selected by the project. Numerous proposals have been received for works in the development phase to be produced in co-production between Italy and Latin America. These proposals will be presented to a audience of interested producers during an online showcase to be held in the first half of March. Anyone interested in participating with their own production company can send an email by February 23 to: organizzazione@castelloerranteresidenza.it

IN MARCH, THE DOCUMENTARY DIRECTED BY MARINA FASTOSO, PRODUCED DURING THE SIXTH EDITION OF THE PROJECT, WILL BE RELEASED

During the sixth edition of the project, the international troupe, led by director Marina Fastoso, produced a documentary in which the protagonists of Castello Errante intimately recount the profound significance that cinema holds in their lives, as they wander following the waves of a mobile, enchanted, and elusive art that nourishes their worldview and dreams. During the residency, held at Castello di Santa Severa in the Lazio Region, they find a fertile space where they can bring their individuality into dialogue with other cultures and experiences, thus experiencing an unparalleled blend of artistic and human exchange.
